Senior Advisor

Pradanya Nagru is majoring in International Affairs with minors in French and Human rights. She is also involved with Amnesty International at UGA, and the SPIA Honor Society of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity. She wants to combine her passion for human Rights with her interest in the technology and cyber field!

Lauren is a fourth-year triple majoring in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics. Outside of LJS, she is involved with Women in Economics, Greater Athens Young Life, the Honors Student Council PAL Program, and Chi Omega Sorority. She is primarily interested in human rights policy, gender policy, and immigration policy.

Spencer Toohill - Staff Writer

Spencer is a senior masters student in UGA’s MIP program. Broadly, Spencer is interested in energy security and nuclear nonproliferation and how those two areas intersect with one another! Spencer is excited to use the skills she has developed from LJS and UGA as a whole after graduation as she begins her career!

Meagan McColloch - Staff Writer/Editor

Meagan is a 2nd year majoring in Political Science and International Affairs. Meagan is a member of the Morehead Honors College and a co-host of the WUOG 90.5 FM news show Filibuddies. Meagan is also involved in the UGA Pride Alliance and the Presbyterian Student Center. Meagan's areas of policy interest include human rights, terrorism, elections, immigration, and international conflicts.

Milan Yadav - Staff Writer

Milan is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has always been passionate about foreign affairs and policymaking. Milan intends to pursue a focus in business law before attending law school. Apart from LJS, he is involved in Arch Policy Institute, and Model UN, co-founded Kappa Alpha Pi (pre-law fraternity), and is an equipment manager of Georgia football!

Ansley Miller - Staff Writer

Ansley Miller is majoring in International Affairs and Political Science and is also a Double Dawg student in the Master of International Policy program. She is involved in Sigma Kappa sorority, SPIA Ambassadors, and works as a student assistant at the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS). She is interested in human rights, international political economy, and energy security.

Zoe Shepherd- Weekly Digest Writer/Editor

Zoe is a third year pursuing a degree in International Affairs, a minor in business, and a certificate in Data Analytics in Public Policy. She currently serves on the executive board of Phi Mu as Ritual Chair. Zoe is also a member of the Order of Omega Honor Society, Women in SPIA, and UGA Miracle! Zoe's policy areas of interest include U.S. foreign policy, human security, and nonproliferation.

Alex Hsu - Weekly Digest Writer

Alex Hsu is a 4th year majoring in International Affairs with a minor in Chinese Language and Literature. He is involved in the Division of Academic Enhancement, Aces for Athens, and is an LSAT tutor with LSATOaks. His areas of interest are Chinese foreign policy, the U.S.-China relationship, and Cross-Strait relations, and he plans on attending law school following graduation.

Niamh Dempsey is double majoring in Political Science and International Affairs, with a minor in Law, Jurisprudence and the State, and completed the Public Affairs Professional Certificate. She is also involved with SPIA Ambassadors and the Spencer Frye Fellowship in Athens. Niamh hopes to work in policy with a focus in environmental law in Washington D.C.

Riya Patel is majoring in Genetics and minoring in Spanish, Biology, and statistics. She is also involved with Hearts for the Homeless Athens, Global Health Union, and Stethoscope Magazine. After graduation, she hopes to attend medical school and work in public health policy, and she loves to play golf and soccer!

Sarah is a 2nd year Honors student double majoring in History and International Affairs. She is particularly interested in human rights research. Sarah is also involved in UGA Wishmakers, UGA Wesley, and Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

William Gonzalez is a third-year double majoring in Political Science and International Affairs, double minoring in Criminal Justice Studies and Law, Jurisprudence, and the State. He is involved with the Criminal Justice Society, Clarke County Mentors @ UGA, the Hispanic Student Association, and Morehead Honors College. William hopes to attend law school with the end goal of becoming a criminal defense attorney working to mitigate wrongful convictions in the United States.

Sasha is a 3rd year student who is majoring in International Affairs, minoring in Law, Jurisprudence, & the State, and is involved in the Double Dawg program pursuing a Master of International Policy. Her primary areas of interest are in international energy policy and international trade regulation. Outside of LJS she is involved with Order of Omega and Kappa Alpha Theta.

Jordan Smith is a sophomore at UGA majoring in International Affairs. Jordan is involved in the John Quincy Adams organization on campus as well as Rotaract. Jordan is interested in environmental policy, foreign policy, European politics, and international organizations!

Hayes Orr is double majoring in International Affairs and Political Science while also pursuing a minor in Spanish. Alongside being an editor at the Loch Johnson Society, Hayes serves as an ambassador for the School of Public and International Affairs. He is also involved with UGA's Center for International Trade and Security (CITS) where he hopes to further his knowledge of international trade and commerce through participation in the Master of International Policy Double Dawg graduate program.

Quinn Phillips is the President of UGA's Model African Union team and is interested in African Politics. His research interests are related to conflict, hybrid regimes, and network analysis methods.

Sara is a second-year Political Science and International Affairs double major with a minor in Law, Jurisprudence, and the State. Outside of her interests in Middle Eastern and South Asian politics, Sara is very passionate about domestic policy, especially for juvenile and criminal justice, disability rights, and environmental rights. At UGA, Sara is also a part of Pi Sigma Alpha, Arch Policy, the Honors Ambassador Program, and the UGA Clothing Closet.

Ana Valencia - Graphic Designer

Ana is a 2nd year studying Political Science and International Affairs with a minor in Human Rights and International Security. On campus, she is part of the competition team of UGA’s nationally ranked Model United Nations Team, and a part of the social committee for Young Democrats of UGA & ACC. She is also an intern for the 2030 Project working on political campaign research and content creation. Ana is a correspondent for the Human Rights column of the Georgia Political Review, where her policy interests include human rights and American foreign policy!

Grey is interested in human security and international development, specifically MENA affairs. Grey is on the executive board of Common Ground and Alexander Hamilton Society. Grey will be starting the Security Leadership Program at the UGA Center for International Trade & Security in the spring.

Iman is involved in Stillpoint Literary Magazine, Literature Club, and the Pakistani Student Association. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and watching movies, and she’s primarily interested in human rights, security, and gender.

Makayla is a second-year International Affairs major at UGA. Her areas of policy interest are Human Rights, UN and Nato Crisis intervention, and relations between EU states. Makayla is also a member of the UGA Model UN team!
